Flying to Galicia from the USA is somewhat more involved than travelling there from within Europe and will involve one, and sometimes two, stops.

For specific details of airports, flight times, schedules and prices, see the Opodo web site. From there you should be able to determine flight details, durations and any connections from the airport of your choice.

It is possible to take a ferry from the United Kingdom to northern Spain and drive to Galicia. Ferries leave Portsmouth and sail to either Bilbao or Santander. Prices vary depending on vehicle size and passenger numbers.

Alternatively, main highways lead from Santiago de Compostela and Vigo right down to Madrid and Barcelona. There is also a railway network. Santiago de Compostela is approx. 600 miles from Madrid and less than 90 miles from Galicia’s four provincial capital cities.
